A GIANT elf is set to bring Christmas cheer while shining a spotlight on the vital work of unpaid carers.
The East Lothian Elf, a 10-foot-tall elf doll, will be raising funds and awareness every day in December until midnight on Christmas Eve for Carers of East Lothian, a charity supporting unpaid carers across the county.
The campaign aims to bring a bit of whimsy to the community while highlighting the role carers play and the support services available to them.

Jenny White, chief executive of Carers of East Lothian, said: "We are so pleased that the Elf has chosen to support Carers of East Lothian for a second year running.
"We are looking forward to seeing the places he visits and the fun he gets up to, but behind the fun of the campaign, we are delighted that he is helping us raise awareness of the challenges carers face and the support available to them across the county."
The East Lothian Elf first appeared in December 2022 and has since raised thousands of pounds for charities including Carers of East Lothian, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and East Lothian Foodbank.
By travelling to locations across East Linton, Edinburgh and East Lothian, the elf has reached thousands of people through social media in previous year.
This year, Carers of East Lothian is once again the chosen charity, with a focus on raising awareness for the many hidden carers who may not be accessing available support.
The elf began his 2025 journey at Gullane Bents, where he met Jenny and her Dalmatian Bonnie.
