LONGNIDDRY’S streets will be lit up for Christmas later this month, as the village’s annual switch-on promises a fun evening of festive cheer.
A parade, music and refreshments will all make up the celebrations, as well as the chance to meet Santa himself.
Lights will be switched on at 6pm on Friday, November 28, outside the village shops.
There will then be a parade to the community centre, where Santa will be in his grotto ready to welcome children, and refreshments will be available.
Cockenzie & Port Seton Community Choir will also be performing.
Longniddry Parish Church will be open for the event, with illuminated Christmas trees and a nativity scene, craft stalls and music from Longniddry Belleplates.
Road closures will be in place temporarily to facilitate the switch-on and parade: Elcho Road, from its junction with Links Road to its junction with Seton Road, will be closed from 5.30pm until 6.30pm; Links Road, from the Main Street junction to the junction with access to the shops’ car park, will be closed 5.45pm to 6.30pm.
Traffic control will be in place to assist at the crossing of Seton Road from Elcho Road to access Longniddry Community Centre for 10 minutes from 6.25pm.
