A SERIES of lunchtime concerts is set to bring a sparkling touch to Musselburgh.
The Brunton's Bite-Sized Concerts, held at Northesk Parish Church, offer a midday retreat for all, regardless of musical knowledge.
Concert-goers can enjoy soup and a sandwich at noon in the church hall before the hour-long concert starts at 1pm.
On Tuesday, guitarist Tim Beattie will perform.
His programme includes pieces by Manuel de Falla, Gaspar Sanz and Gerald Garcia, alongside Scottish lute pieces.
His solo performance highlights the deep connections between Scottish and Spanish musical traditions.
The 17th-century Rowallen Lute Book's Baroque dances, paired with Gaspar Sanz’s Suite Española, show a shared musical language influenced by early European cultural exchanges.
Ryan Corbett, a former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist and accordionist, is set to perform on Tuesday, November 11.
He will present a mix of classical masterpieces and original accordion compositions, featuring works by Rachmaninov, Franck and Weber.
Pianist Ariel Lanyi will conclude this year's series on Tuesday, December 9, with performances of Schumann's Fantasiestücke op. 12 and Debussy's Preludes for Piano, Book 2.
Schumann’s compositions are known for their romantic longing, wit and charm, while Debussy’s Preludes are celebrated for their vivid musical colours, natural scenes and whimsical characters.
The Brunton Theatre Trust curates this concert series in collaboration with Northesk Parish Church, aiming to maintain a high standard of performances in Musselburgh.
The trust is supported by East Lothian Council and Creative Scotland.
