MUSSELBURGH singer-songwriter Callum Beattie has announced a new album, INDI, set for release on January 23, 2026.
In addition to the announcement of his new album, Beattie's new single, Two Pretenders, is now available to listen to.
INDI is described as Beattie's "rawest and most personal songwriting to date," exploring themes of inner struggle, self-discovery and the pursuit of genuine love.
The indie-rock album, produced by Joe Cross, is said to blend heartfelt lyrics with unfiltered honesty, with influences from artists like Sam Fender, The Killers and Bruce Springsteen.
Beattie said: "When love feels broken, sometimes pretending is another word for believing.
"Two Pretenders is about two people on the edge of collapse, still desperately clinging to the love they once knew.
"It’s the sound of heartbreak meeting hope, of fighting for something that’s slipping away, but refusing to let go without a final, honest try.
"At its core, it’s a plea for connection in the chaos.
"The chorus says it all: ‘Throwing our hearts in the fire, clinging to the embers.'"
Beattie achieved two consecutive number-one hits on the Scottish Albums Chart and a breakthrough on the UK Albums Chart with his 2023 album Vandals.
