THE Genesis Scottish Open takes place at The Renaissance Club, near Dirleton, next week.

Most of the world's top golfers will be heading to East Lothian for the prestigious tournament.

And the organisers have put together a handy guide for residents, with everything they need to know.

What’s the hype?

The Genesis Scottish Open is the only opportunity to see the world's top golfers in Scotland this year, only days before they head west for the 153rd Open in Portrush.

Confirmed players include world no. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Masters winner Rory McIlroy and the home favourite, defending champion Robert MacIntyre.

The entertainment does not stop on the course. The Fringe by the Tee stage has been confirmed for the second year, featuring top live comedy and entertainment.

Author-turned-DJ Irvine Welsh has been confirmed to play on Friday, and award-winning singer-songwriter KT Tunstall will headline the entertainment on Saturday.

With a bustling fan village, great food and drink options, merchandise, entertainment and roughly 300 acres of land to explore, the Genesis Scottish Open is the perfect day out for the whole family.

When is it and how do I get tickets?

The tournament runs from Thursday, July 10, to Sunday, July 13, with exciting action throughout the four days.

Spectators are also invited to watch the Pro-Am taking place on Wednesday.

Tickets start from £28, with complimentary tickets for those aged 12 and under available upon purchase of an adult ticket.

Tickets are limited but still available.

How do I get there from East Lothian?

The Renaissance Club is near Dirleton. Travelling by car should take about 10 minutes from the centre of North Berwick.

On approach, follow the yellow AA boards directing you to a designated spectator car park.

If you are travelling by train, you should stop at Longniddry Railway Station, where all ticket holders will be able to use a free shuttle bus service to the Genesis Scottish Open.

Shuttles are timed to meet each train to and from Edinburgh at Longniddry.

This year, the shuttle bus service has been extended for Saturday to accommodate the entertainment at the Genesis Scottish Open.

Will there be food?

There is a huge variety of food and drink available at the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open.

The food outlets cater for a range of dietary requirements including vegetarian and gluten-free, with outlets present in the FANZONE village, at Hole 6, Hole 12/14 and Hole 17.

Vendors include mouthwatering hotdogs from Brigston & Co, pittas from Lemon Squeezy, bagels from The Wee Green and great choices from Smoke & Soul and Pizza Pitch amongst others.

If you are after something sweet, Hector & Harriet Café offer crepes, East Lothian institution Alandas will be serving gelato, and Fallen Tree Coffee will be stocked with baked goods.

Hungry for more? The full list of vendors can be found online.

If nothing takes your fancy, spectators are allowed a small packed lunch and soft drink in a small backpack, just no picnic hampers or trolleys, and no glass bottles of any kind. It is also forbidden to bring your own alcoholic beverages into the site.

Is the event kid friendly?

Yes, the five-day event has plenty to get excited about for the whole family.

Under-12s can attend free and, with plenty of entertainment, food and roughly 300 acres of stunning East Lothian coast, a day out at the Genesis Scottish Open has something for all.

Can I pay by card?

Yes, the tournament is a fully cashless event. Please note that all vendors on site will only accept cards or contactless payments.
