A SUMMER school production is bringing a tale as old as time to the stage.
More than 50 young performers will bring Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to life in Haddington, with six shows scheduled at the Corn Exchange from Thursday, August 7, to Saturday, August 9.
The production is part of a summer school programme run by the Brunton Performing Arts Network (BPAN) and produced in association with David Ross.
A spokesperson for the Brunton Performing Arts Network said: "Taking part in creative activities is fun, helps build confidence and fuels the imagination.
"As well as developing a range of acting and performance skills, participants meet new people and develop skills that are useful in all areas of life.
"Brunton Performing Arts Network provides fun, professionally supported opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in the performing arts."
BPAN offers young people hands-on experience in theatre through an immersive summer school, supported by a professional director, musical director, choreographer and technical team.
The programme aims to deliver a high-quality, professional-standard production while giving participants the chance to develop a wide range of performance and life skills.
Beauty and the Beast features beloved songs including Be Our Guest and the title track.
The story follows Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, a prince trapped under an enchantress’s spell.
BPAN is part of The Brunton’s broader creative engagement programme, supported by East Lothian Council and Creative Scotland.
The scheme aims to make the performing arts accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Tickets for the show are priced at £5 for young people, £14 for adults and £12 for concessions.
Tickets are available from The Brunton’s website or by calling 0131 653 5245.
