A NORTH Berwick-based author has enjoyed a successful release of her memoir.

'I Am Lorraine: Wild at Heart', by Lorraine McDonnell, chronicles her journey from the hills of Ireland through trauma, culminating in a testament to the human spirit.

As a young woman, she endured a brutal assault, an experience that shaped her path but did not define her.

Lorraine embarked on a journey of healing, courage and transformation, achieving feats including summiting Mont Blanc.

Her journey also includes overcoming alcoholism. Now sober, she openly shares her experiences to inspire others struggling with addiction.

Since its release on March 17, the book has been ranked number one in Amazon's Hot New Releases and Pre-Release Bestseller in Women’s Biographies.
