RESIDENTS of Spott have been told that their power will be switched off on Tuesday to allow “essential modernisation” work to be carried out on the electricity network.
SP Energy Networks have advised them, via advance warning letters, that their electricity supply will be temporarily switched off from 1pm to 4pm.
The work is taking place at Spott Farm and surrounding areas.
The company said in a letter: “We are required to isolate the electrical supply to your property to allow our staff to safely carry out essential modernisation work on our network that is coming to the end of its serviceable life.
“This will include work on the poles, overhead line and other equipment to help maintain a good quality supply for our customers.
“You may experience more traffic than usual in your area and there may be temporary traffic management in place for the duration of the works.
“Any disruption will be kept to a minimum.
“We know that switching off your electricity at any time can be an inconvenience and we thank you for your patience during this work.”
The letter also provides “helpful tips” for the planned power interruption, covering keeping warm, home appliances, electric vehicles and supporting vulnerable customers, as well as contact details for SP Energy Networks.
