North Berwick: Helicopter at work over the Bass Rock

Late last year, works were carried out on the concrete walkway situated on the famous Firth of Forth island, as a site clearance by Northern Lighthouse Board was carried out. 

After picking up a load from the Bass, the helicopter delivered the materials to PHAROS, a Northern Lighthouse Board ship.

The Bass Rock is located to the north-east of North Berwick.

"The helicopter picked up the loads that were left from work we had carried out on site late last year and took them to our vessel PHAROS, anchored nearby.

"It was an operation that required a huge amount of skill and teamwork.

"The Bass Rock is a special protected area and is home to the world's largest colony of northern gannets.

"This means we work closely with RSPB Scotland and NatureScot, and only carry out operations at certain times of the year."
