It is important to note that a yellow weather warning is in place for parts of today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) for snow and ice.

Are you still without Power?

Today (Saturday), people without power were being advised to head to the CO-OP in Ormiston, located on Main Street, where SP Energy Networks was providing hot food from a truck.

The food truck was parked outside of the CO-OP from 8am, with SP Energy Networks opening up warm places for people to visit and to also charge their mobile phones.

The Courier now understands that the food truck has moved to Humbie and is open now, but it is currently unclear when it will be open till.

The British Red Cross will be in Innerwick from around 12-3pm with blankets, hot drinks and the offer of general support to the public.

The charity are planning to set up on Barns Ness Terrace, opposite the village hall.

Anyone still without power is welcome to go along.

According to SP Energy Network's website, a number of homes with an East Lothian postcode are without power in places, like Drem and areas surrounding East Fortune and Athelstaneford.

Over 164, 000 properties were without power as the storm battered the country, with 134,000 now restored.  That is around 80 per cent of homes that have been restored.

Public Transport -

For anyone needing to travel by train, Scotrail has advised that services will be "heavily impacted" today following the storm, with a yellow weather warning still in place.

A number of trains from North Berwick to Edinburgh have already been cancelled today (Saturday).

East Coast Buses have advised that "buses are operating to their normal timetable" with Prentice of Haddington running a normal service but services "may still be subject to disruption".

Supermarkets and Local Shops -

A number of county supermarkets decided to close yesterday during the storm, including Tesco, Lidl and Asda, with many of them reopening this morning.

Traffic and Roads -

Yesterday, a number of incidents occurred during the storm on the A1 with the Tyne Bridge closing from 6am.

According to Traffic Scotland, the bridge has been reopened and the A1 is currently experiencing free flowing traffic, at the time of writing this.

East Lothian Council -

Council teams have been "working day and night" to deal with the impacts of Storm Éowyn.

A spokesperson for the local authority, said: "Staff are working through a significant number of incidents and calls, with a focus on keeping local communities and infrastructure safe and this will continue to be the case over the weekend and coming days.

"Work includes assessing damage, clearing debris and carrying out repairs where required.

"We have been working closely with partners and regular meetings of our severe weather response group have been held. We’ll continue to closely monitor conditions and local infrastructure."
