A SUPER transformer was not delivered to Cockenzie on Sunday as had been expected due to "the resources required to ensure safe transit not [being] available".
On the previous Sunday, January 12, residents had lined the streets to watch the first super transformer being driven through Cockenzie to the site of the former power station, where Inch Cape is constructing a substation for its offshore wind farm.
However, this time around, the second super transformer never left the Port of Leith, where it is being kept.

Inch Cape told the Courier that, "due to the fact that the resources required to ensure safe transit were not available", it was unable to deliver the transformer.
Siemens and Police Scotland had been due to assist Inch Cape in delivering the super transformer to the site.
Ben Morse, chair of Cockenzie and Port Seton Community Council, said: "Cockenzie and Port Seton Community Council was disappointed to hear that the delivery was unable to take place on the expected schedule on Sunday night.
"Residents, particularly of East Lorimer Place, have already endured disruption, including pneumatic drills within metres of homes at 10.30pm to remove street furniture last weekend, and the previously advertised schedule would have at least allowed East Lorimer Place to return to normal as quickly as possible. The additional delay, and now uncertainty, is unwelcome.
"We look forward to receiving an update on the new schedule and timeline for the restoration of the space."
A spokesperson for Inch Cape said: "The second super grid transformer for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm substation site at Cockenzie was not delivered on Sunday night/Monday morning and is currently still at the Port of Leith.
"The delivery could not be undertaken due to the fact that the resources required to ensure safe transit were not available.
"The move will be rescheduled to a later date and all those potentially impacted will be notified in advance."
It is currently unknown when the rescheduled delivery will take place.
Siemens and Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
