A COUNTY man has been placed under supervision after he admitted making offensive remarks towards his partner during a heated argument last year.
Jamie Stevenson shouted, swore and acted in an aggressive manner towards the woman at the couple’s home on Caesar Road, Tranent.
Stevenson, 38, made offensive remarks towards the woman and threw household items, leading a concerned neighbour to report the incident to the police.
Stevenson was arrested and charged, though the woman did not wish to engage with the police following the altercation on December 9, 2023.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court was previously told that Stevenson, who pleaded guilty to the offence one week after his arrest, had several convictions for domestic offending in the past.
He returned to the dock for sentencing last week, where Sheriff Christopher Dickson was told that the woman was not in favour of a non-harassment order.
The sheriff placed Stevenson under the supervision of the local social work department for the next 12 months.
