A WOMAN has been jailed after she made threats towards police witnesses.

Margaret Ross was arrested at Kirkgate in Edinburgh on August 15 last year and, while being taken to the city’s St Leonard’s Police Station, she began shouting and swearing.

Ross, of Anderson Fairway, North Berwick, then made the threats to the police witnesses during the journey, Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told last week.

Ross, 34, pleaded guilty to the offence, along with a series of bail breach charges, during an appearance in the dock from custody.

Sheriff Matthew Auchincloss imposed a total custodial sentence on Ross of 320 days.
