DISCUSSIONS are taking place in a bid to install new bike racks on Dunbar High Street.
The town’s community council is consulting with groups including Dunbar Trades’ Association and the town’s Christmas lights group to identify potential sites.
Mark James, a member of the town’s community council, said: “I think we all want less vehicular traffic on the High Street and for more people to walk or cycle.
"You see people nipping to the High Street to buy one or two things but you don’t need a car to transport your shopping home.”
Further discussions are expected to take place at a future community council meeting.
