Libby Morris was awarded the Green Champion of the Year prize at the Courier’s awards last Thursday.
As the chair of North Berwick in Bloom (NBIB), the group has an incredible record of horticultural success at major awards ceremonies.
Last autumn, NBIB were joint winners of the prestigious Rosebowl at the Beautiful Scotland Awards.
In 2022, NBIB scooped a gold medal and also won the coastal category at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Britain in Bloom Finals.
Libby was unable to attend the ceremony last week, when she was crowned winner in a tough category featuring litter-pickers Tranent Wombles, Blooming Haddington stalwart Rab Moran, and The Ridge Project, in Dunbar.
Speaking to the Courier last Friday, she said: “It was a real honour to win. It’s a testament to the whole team here at North Berwick in Bloom, who all work so hard.
“Everyone works so hard and it’s an honour to be a part of it. We get a lot of good support and some lovely comments from the community.
“I am so grateful for this award, it means a lot to us. We just want to keep doing what we are doing.”
The award was sponsored by Musselburgh-based Sustainable Facilities Management, which provides facilities management services to businesses of all sizes.
