A MOTORIST has been caught driving a vehicle while disqualified and with no insurance.
Plamen Chobonov was found behind the wheel of a vehicle despite him serving a previously imposed road ban at the southern car park of Prestonpans Railway Station last year.
Chobonov, of Station Avenue, Haddington, was also found to have no valid insurance for the vehicle due to the existing driving ban.
The 25-year-old was arrested and he pleaded guilty to the two charges during an appearance in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
The Crown accepted not guilty pleas to charges of Chobonov giving police a false name and to him possessing a quantity of cannabis during the same incident on December 8, 2023.
Sheriff Joseph Stewart issued Chobonov with a three year driving ban and ordered him to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the community as punishment.
