A WOMAN supplied Class A drugs to a friend who subsequently died of an overdose at a home in Tranent.
Michelle Durie was with a group of friends at the property on the town’s Caesar Way when they all clubbed together to buy a quantity of diamorphine, a court heard.
Durie, currently of Wemyss House, Links Road, Port Seton, left the home to purchase the drugs and returned a short time later, where the group all ingested the substance.
Ailsa Rutherford, who was a member of the group of friends, then passed away a short time later after she voluntarily took a quantity of the drug.
Durie was in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, where she pleaded guilty to a charge of supplying diamorphine to others, namely Ms Rutherford, now deceased, at the home in Tranent on November 16, 2022.
Sheriff Charles Walls fined the 42-year-old £650.
