A MUSSELBURGH resident has been found guilty of assaulting a pensioner after standing trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.
Ahmed Sayed, of Whitehill Gardens, denied the charge of assaulting 71-year-old Robert Reyner at an address in Bonnyrigg.
Sayed said he was innocent of kicking the OAP on the body to his injury during the incident on September 9, 2020.
He appeared in the dock at the city centre court last Monday, where he stood trial on the charge.
Following the evidence, Sheriff Walls found the 42-year-old guilty of the offence.
Sayed was told that he must pay his victim £250 in compensation and was also fined £270.
