HOPES have been raised that a festival in the centre of Haddington could become an annual event.
Goatfest, organised by Haddington Rugby Club, brought together live music and food and drink on Saturday afternoon.
Bob Snodgrass, who coaches youngsters at the club and is involved in organising the event, was delighted to say it had proven a great success.
He said: “It was good and went really well.
“The weather was good, it was a full sell-out and lots of people had fun.”
Last year’s event, the first of its kind, attracted a crowd of 1,000 to Neilson Park.
Mr Snodgrass was pleased to say the weekend’s event had surpassed that, with about 1,300 people attending throughout the afternoon.
He revealed that plans were already under way for the event to return in 2025.
He said: “We are already looking to save a date for 2025 and can announce it as May 17.
“The weather perhaps gets everyone in the right mood.
“People meet up early and the sun is shining.”
This year’s event, which is supported by Haddington’s Winton Brewery, saw music from Dean Jones, Klones, Beat Loaf, Auld Hat, The Moontrip Punx and Jack Robertson.
