A CHAMPION musician has been congratulated by Haddington and District Community Council.
Knox Academy flautist Leila Maycock was crowned East Lothian Council Young Musician of the Year at St Mary’s Parish Church.
At the community council’s April meeting, the group started by congratulating the teenager on her success.
Theresa Laing, chairwoman of the group, led a round of applause and said: “Very well done. That was super news.”
Leila will now travel to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to represent East Lothian at the Scottish Young Musician of the Year final.
