A MUSSELBURGH man will return to court for sentencing next month after admitting being abusive to his partner.
Norman Mackenzie behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and charging towards his partner at an address in the town.
During the incident on April 8, Mackenzie, currently of Promenade, seized a mobile phone from the woman’s hand and smashed the device by throwing it against a wall.
Police were called out and the 43-year-old was arrested and charged under the Domestic Abuse (Scotland) Act 2018.
He pleaded guilty during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month and was due to be sentenced last week.
But the court was told that the criminal justice social work report previously called for was not yet available and sentence was further deferred to June 4.
