A MUSSELBURGH man has had a warrant put out for his arrest after he failed to show up to court for a sentencing.
Ben Vanhagen was due to appear in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in front of Sheriff Iain Nicol to find out his fate after previously admitting to assaulting a social worker.
Vanhagen, of Delta Road, punched employee Keith Sutherland during a social work meeting at an office at Shrub Mount in Edinburgh on January 23.
The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at court the following day after being held in custody overnight.
He was subsequently remanded by the sheriff in February after a report was not prepared in time but then released from prison after he was sentenced to a community disposal on a separate matter last month.
Sheriff Nicol issued a non-appearance warrant for Vanhagen’s immediate apprehension after he did not appear at court last Tuesday.
