A TRANENT teenager who spat on a bus driver and then 12 months later punched a woman on the head will be sentenced later this month.
Ryan Owens assaulted the bus driver when he was 16 by spitting on his body during an incident on London Road, Edinburgh, on March 22, 2022.
Owens, now 18, then punched a woman to the head and caused her to fall to the ground by pushing her on the body on June 25 last year.
Owens also shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence, and was found in possession of a knife near to his home at the town’s Northfield.
He pleaded guilty to the offences when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on February 27 and was due to be sentenced last week.
But when the case called at court, Sheriff Julius Komorowski was told that the social work reports were still not available and he agreed to defer sentence further to May 29.
