AN ELPHINSTONE resident has been placed on the sex offenders’ register after he was found guilty of engaging in a sexual act with an underage girl.
Fraser Buchan, 28, stood trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week after he denied the charge of repeatedly touching and squeezing the breasts of a 15-year-old girl at an address in the village.
But Buchan was found guilty of that charge, as well as a second charge of directing sexual communication towards the girl for the purposes of humiliating or distressing her.
The two offences took place on August 28, 2022.
Buchan, of Tranent Road, was found guilty by Sheriff Ian Anderson following evidence.
The sheriff placed Buchan on the register on an interim basis and deferred full sentence to June 3.
