A PENSIONER will be sentenced later this month after he admitted assaulting a woman on three occasions.

George Hood seized the woman on the body and bit her on the head during an incident at Links Walk, Port Seton, on September 9, 2020.

Hood, 78, then attacked the woman by repeatedly seizing her by the neck at the same location on October 16 last year.

He also assaulted the same woman by seizing and squeezing her by the neck and repeatedly biting her on the body to her injury on Boxing Day last year.

Hood, of Links Walk, pleaded guilty to the three offences during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in February.

He was due to be sentenced last week but the court was told that a psychological report which had been called for was still not available and sentence was deferred further to next month.
