THIS week we look at the many diverse shops that have inhabited our county’s high streets in the last 130 years.
We’re often encouraged to “shop local” but, until recently, that’s all we did!
Our nearby high street was where we found locally sourced meat at the butcher, freshly baked bread at the bakery, all our household needs in the hardware store, friendly chat at the hairdresser, and quality leatherware at the saddler. . .
