AN ARREST warrant has been issued for a Prestonpans resident after he was not present at court for sentencing last week.

Thomas Malone, of McLachlan Gardens, was arrested following an incident at an address in Leith last month.

While on route to St Leonard’s Police Station, Malone became abusive towards officers and began shouting, swearing and making derogatory remarks towards them.

He also shouted repeated threats of violence towards two constables during the incident within a police vehicle on March 17.

Malone, 27, was subsequently granted bail at Edinburgh Sheriff Court with a condition not to enter a property on Halmyre Street, Leith, but he breached the order one week later.

Malone also breached the bail order when he was located by police officers within the property for a second time on April 3.

He was due to be sentenced at the court last Wednesday after previously admitting the offences but failed to show.

Sheriff Alison Stirling issued an arrest warrant for his immediate apprehension.
