A BRICK was thrown through the window of a home in Musselburgh by a woman who also shouted threats and assaulted another woman during a disturbance in the town.

Jessie Rennie turned up at the property at Delta Road and began shouting, swearing and making threats to the homeowner, all while in possession of rocks and a brick, on April 17, 2022.

She then threw the brick she was carrying through the front window of the house.

Rennie, of New Street, also assaulted Michelle Freeman by grabbing the woman by the hair, pulling her by the hair and punching her to the head during the same incident.

The 42-year-old was subsequently arrested after police had been alerted to the disturbance and was taken to the St Leonard’s Police Station in Edinburgh.

While being processed at the city centre station, Rennie then assaulted PC Clare Allan by spitting on her.

Rennie appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, where she pleaded guilty to three charges, including one of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and two of assault.

The court was told that Rennie had stayed out of trouble since August last year and was now in a “new relationship” that was having “a positive impact” on her behaviour.

No narration was read out in open court into the circumstances of the incidents and Sheriff Ian Anderson agreed to defer sentence to next month for social work reports to be prepared.
