THIS week we take a look at our county town, Haddington, through the decades.
Not only is it located in the centre of our county, but it has been the centre of county affairs for many a century.
Haddington received Burgh status, one of the earliest to do so, during the reign of David I (1124–1153), giving it trading rights which encouraged its growth into a market town.
