A WOMAN assaulted two police officers during an incident at an A1 layby.

Police had been called out to an alleged incident involving Kerry Holland at her home on Civic Square, Tranent, on December 23 last year.

They located the woman at a westbound layby near Haddington but she began assaulting the officers.

The 42-year-old attempted to kick PC Gareth Watt to the head and tried to kick PC Marisa Kerr to the body.

Holland admitted both assault charges when she appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

She also had not guilty pleas accepted by the Crown to three further allegations of assault and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at her home and at an Edinburgh police station.

Sheriff John Cook fined Holland £420.
