WORK to repair damage caused to North Berwick Harbour more than five months ago is ongoing.
At the end of last month, North Berwick Harbour Trust highlighted that 28 two-tonne rock bags had been delivered to the area as part of the work to be carried out to the damaged harbour wall.
On Monday, a large crane was on site and moving large bags of stone across the harbour to the hole in the wall. The stones are to provide protection from the sea, to allow repair of the wall to take place without ongoing repairs being washed away.
Four-metre waves and spring tides caused substantial damage to the wall and walkway towards the end of October last year.

Since then, North Berwick Harbour Trust has been working alongside East Lothian Council and other organisations to draw up a plan for how repairs can be carried out.
Already, material has been removed from the area, with listed building consent required for the reinstatement of the harbour wall.
An application has been lodged with the local authority’s planning department and a decision on the scheme is due to be made by May 19.
