DANCE and musical treats are in store at venues in Musselburgh this month.
The Royal Ballet commemorates principal choreographer Kenneth MacMillan’s one-act ballets in a Royal Opera House Live screening as part of The Brunton’s programme.
MacMillan Celebrates will be shown at Loretto School Theatre on Tuesday at 7.15pm, featuring Danses Concertantes, Different Drummer and Requiem.
Max Mandel, principal viola of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, will be showcasing the viola – “renowned for its ability to spin enchanting and romantic melodies” – as a solo instrument. His recital, The Lyrical Viola, is at Northesk Parish Church on Wednesday, April 17, at 7.30pm.

Loretto School Theatre and Northesk Parish Church are being used as parts of The Brunton, on Ladywell Way, are currently closed following a roof survey.
