A HISTORIC church in Dunbar town centre is expected to go under the hammer once again.
The Abbey Church, at the southern end of the town’s High Street, was due to go up for auction on March 21.
However, the building, which dates back to 1850, was withdrawn before bidding began.

The Category B-listed building, designed by architect Thomas Hamilton, was previously earmarked for a town hall or arts centre but neither project moved forward.
A spokesperson for Auction House Scotland confirmed that they expected it to go to a future auction after it was made available for £105,000.
According to Auction House Scotland: “Despite being a beloved landmark within the local community, the former church has remained empty for decades.
“The building itself is made of red sandstone with internal stone steps leading up to the mezzanine level.
“There are many original features left behind such as original stained-glass windows; the roof has been completely removed.
“This is a fantastic project for a builder offering great potential for a variety of possible uses subject to obtaining the relevant planning.”
