AN APOLOGY has been issued after a member of the public was locked inside the public toilets on North Berwick’s Quality Street on Friday.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson confirmed that a member of the public had been trapped in the facilities on Friday afternoon after council attendants closed the facilities for the evening.
Concerns had been raised on a North Berwick public Facebook page at 4.30pm on Friday. Police were later contacted via 101.
The council spokesperson said that they were alerted to the incident and the attendant returned to unlock the facilities.
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said: “A user was locked inside the toilet for a short period on Friday afternoon. The attendant returned to unlock the toilet as quickly as possible and an apology was made.”
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
