Ross High School is seeking donations of prom dresses and outfits.

The school is seeking donations ahead of its summer prom, with the hope of providing outfits to pupils who require them.

New or nearly new dresses or suits, smart shoes, heels, bags or jewellery are welcomed and can be dropped off to the school office.

Councillor Lee-Anne Menzies, ward member for the town, urged people to get involved and donate.

She said: “I’ve dropped off nine gorgeous gowns, shirts, ties and bags. I’ll have more before they stop collecting at the end of May.

“Why am I doing this? Because in my twenties, I found out that my mum had gotten into debt for my outfit.

“She wouldn’t see us without and loaded up with crippling debt instead.

“I don’t want to see any mum doing that!

“We all say that it takes a village to raise a child. So here’s our chance to be part of that village and raise our collective children.

“No child should be missing out and no parent should be in debt for these occasions.”
