A WEST Barns resident has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after he admitted brandishing a knife while at a property in Dunbar.
Jack Stewart, of the village’s Edinburgh Road, brandished the blade and used the weapon to strike a bicycle before he engaged in a stand-up fight inside the home on the town’s Pine Street on March 23 last year.
Stewart, 23, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in January and returned for sentencing last Wednesday.
Sheriff Peter McCormack placed Stewart on a community payback order where he will have to complete 135 hours of unpaid work.
