NORTH Berwick’s Evelyn M lifeboat is undergoing repairs ahead of her retirement later this year.
The boat has been used off the coast of the East Lothian town for 11 years and a spokesperson for the RNLI said that the “harsh conditions of the North Sea have taken their toll”.
In the meantime, the station is being served by Robleen (D-768) from the RNLI’s relief fleet.
The spokesperson said: “We are hopeful that Evelyn M will be back with us soon before she is officially retired in a few months.
“We’ll post more on the plans for the summer naming ceremony of our new lifeboat in the coming months.”
The naming of the new boat is set to take place in July.
