P7 pupils enjoyed a tour of Preston Lodge High School at an open day to help prepare them for the move to the school in the summer.

The school hosted its P7 open day last month, when 450 students and their families had a look round.

The event normally takes place in October but was delayed due to building work taking place at Preston Lodge.

S6 pupils supported the event by guiding families and showing them some of the building’s highlights.

Youngsters got the chance to meet some of the Preston Lodge teachers and staff and take part in various activities, supported by S6 pupils.

Gavin Clark, headteacher, said: “The enthusiasm of our visitors, the commitment of our staff, and the support S6 students gave the event made the whole thing a real success.

“This evening is the start of our transition programme for P7s, with lots more to come!”
