EAST Lothian rugby players are helping others to enjoy the sport more than 8,000 miles away.

A link has been established between Haddington RFC and their counterparts in George, South Africa.

Donald Snodgrass, director of rugby at the Neilson Park side, gave an update to the club about how the partnership was going.

He said: “In recent years we’ve visited Blanco United Rugby Club, who do some amazing work in their local area, providing opportunities for kids who need it, and they’re a great social hub for a community facing huge challenges.

“This is a photo of a few of their under-20s team, sporting some of our old colts strips which we sent out there along with a bunch of kids’ and adults’ training kit.

“We’re periodically going to collect kit and ask for donations so that we can continue to help them and build our partnership.”
