A BOOK shop which will celebrate its second anniversary this spring is in the running for a prestigious award.
Night Owl Books, which opened in East Linton in April 2022, is one of 10 bookshops from throughout Scotland to be shortlisted for the Regional and Country Finalist for Independent Bookshop of the Year Scotland in the British Book Awards.
The award celebrates bookshops at the centre of their community and is sponsored by book wholesalers Gardners.
Rebecca Roberts, founder of the Bridge Street business, said: “I was absolutely thrilled to learn that Night Owl Books has been shortlisted in the British Book Awards as a Regional and Country Finalist for Independent Bookshop of the Year Scotland.
Night Owl Books is up for a top national award
“It's particularly exciting to be shortlisted alongside so many of Scotland's brilliant independent bookshops who have been such an inspiration and so supportive over the past two years since we opened the doors of our independent bookshop in East Linton.
“It's also a wonderful opportunity to thank our local community, who have been so incredibly welcoming and supportive of the bookshop!”
Businesses from Biggar and Jedburgh to Ullapool and Fort William are in the running for the prize.
Award winners will be crowned on March 11 and 12.
