HARD-WORKING youngsters have raised more than £250 for charity.
Prestonpans Community Centre holds a Friday club and youngsters decided to raise money for a good cause in the lead-up to Christmas last year.
Lorna Craig, community development assistant, was pleased to say that they had raised a total of £275.66 for the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.
She said: “We have a Friday club on the Friday afternoon for primary school children.
“One came up with the idea of raising money for charity.
“They had a vote between them all and the charity they voted for was the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.
“A lot of them have experienced the hospital as a patient or friend.
“The weeks leading up to Christmas, we made something different to sell at the Christmas fair.”
Items for sale ranged from decorations to sweet treats.
