A SCHEME designed to improve the warmth of homes in Innerwick has been launched.

Insulate Innerwick, managed by Sustaining Dunbar, aims to examine how heating bills can be reduced and homes made warmer.

Talks took place at Innerwick Village Hall at the end of last month.

A project team, including architects from Smith Scott Mullan Associates, who specialise in improving existing buildings, and trustees of the Parish Welfare Association, has been established.

Sarah McLeary, project manager and architect, said: “The project team were really delighted with the quality and depth of discussion.

“We were able to find out what people are most concerned about, and this will guide what we do next.”

Now Insulate Innerwick is looking for volunteers to train to use a thermal camera, which is a key tool in assessing the performance of buildings.

The scheme is supported by Dunbar and East Linton Area Partnership (DELAP), Fred. Olsen Renewables, Crown Estates (Coastal Communities Fund), SSE Renewables and Neart na Gaoithe Offshore Wind Ltd.
