A POPULAR restaurant which has been run by the same man for more than 15 years has gone on the market.

Alan Russell has been at the helm of the Longniddry Inn for 16 years.

However, the business has now gone on the market with a leasehold price of £295,000.

The Longniddry Inn is described as being “hugely popular with both tourists and day trippers from far and wide”.

Rightbiz, which lists the business as being for sale, notes: “The Longniddry Inn is a highly regarded village inn that has been in our client's very capable hands for the last 16 years, during which time the business has performed at a hugely impressive level and our clients have repeatedly reinvested back into the business and the property.

“The business is offered in a true walk-in condition, ready for new owners to trade immediately.

“The business is very well patronised by locals, day trippers and visitors alike – trading with a large amount of repeat custom.

“In terms of trade, the business has returned to pre-Covid levels, enjoying strong weekly turnover figures.

“The function and wedding side of the business is growing again as we head into more normalised times.

“The Longniddry Inn is run by our clients with the assistance of 16 members of staff; this includes a full kitchen brigade as well as a manager.

“The business trades with an all-encompassing menu catering for both lunch and dinner service.”

Alan and Audrey Russell have been involved in a number of businesses in the county, including bed and breakfast Adniston Manor at Macmerry, and The Old Smiddy in Pencaitland.
