EMERGENCY repairs have been carried out on the main road connecting Haddington and Gifford.

Scottish Water were alerted to a burst water main at Cockles Brae on the B6369.

A spokesperson for Scottish Water told the Courier that the repair had been completed and work was under way to fix the road – although there was no timescale provided for when work would be complete.

They said: “Scottish Water have carried out repairs to a burst water main on the B6369 at Cockles Brae, between Haddington and Gifford.

“The reinstatement of the road is being completed and we are arranging for the road closure to be lifted.”
