FAMILY of missing man Daniel Fraser have been made aware after a body was discovered in the water at Musselburgh Lagoons.

Police were called out at about 10.55am yesterday (Sunday) after reports of a body at the popular beauty spot.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Formal identification is yet to take place, but the family of missing man Daniel Fraser are aware.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Mr Fraser was seen at about 1.35am on January 7 outside The Old Golf Course reception building in the town.

Extensive enquiries, including reviewing CCTV, were carried out to trace the 35-year-old, who is from the Drylaw area of Edinburgh.

Police helicopter searches were also carried out in the area as part of the bid to trace Mr Fraser.
