A PRIMARY school has benefitted from the donation of a litter collection cart and litter pickers for pupils and staff to use.
Sanderson’s Wynd Primary School has been donated the cart, which can be wheeled around to collect rubbish, as well as several litter pickers by Tranent Wombles.
The Wombles, who have been working with pupils and staff at the school to carry out litter picks in the town, made the donation.
It is expected that the litter pickers will be used by pupils at the school, while the collection cart will be used by school janitors.

Henry Mathias, chair of the Wombles, said: “We’ve done quite a bit of work with the kids at Sanderson’s Wynd. They have done joint litter picks with us and done some of their own ones.
“It was our pleasure to make this donation, which we hope helps.
“We’re also working with Windygoul Primary School too and we hope to work with St Martin’s Primary School in the future too.”
Lynsey Blair, headteacher at Sanderson’s Wynd, said: “The Wombles have donated litter pickers and the litter collection cart.
“A huge thank you to the Wombles from all at Sanderson’s Wynd.”
