A whole-school effort has led to Macmerry Primary School unveiling a new school logo.
The school involved pupils of all ages in reviewing the school's values in October last year and it was decided a new school 'badge' would be created too to reflect these.
Pupils discussed the core values of the school, and thought about images that would best reflect those values.
Together, pupils came up with five images: one showing nature, rainbows, bugs, hearts and sky which helped create the logo.
On the image, a tree represents perseverance to grow, the school said. The sun represents encouragement as it helps the tree to grow. On the tree there are also heart-shapes leaves which represent understanding, friendship, love and joy.
Also on the branch is a beehive and bees which remind pupils of working together to create a safe, inclusive and productive community and world, explained school staff.
Finally, a rainbow represents uniqueness and listening to colourful and interesting ideas.
Mhairi Stratton, headteacher at the school, said: “Everyone is very proud of our new school logo and everything that it represents.
"It is inclusive of everyone’s ideas and was a real group effort.”
