A HADDINGTON motorist has escaped a road ban after he became involved in an incident with another driver.
Andrew Burgess, of Monkmains Road, was travelling eastbound on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass at the Gogar Roundabout when he drove without due care and attention.
Burgess, 54, was seen travelling at excessive speeds alongside motorist Gordon Chapman, of Bank Street, Alloa, on May 5 last year.
Both men were unknown to each other and were said to be driving in excess of the speed limit.
Burgess and 62-year-old Chapman both appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday, where they admitted a reduced charge of driving their vehicles without due care and attention.
Sheriff Julius Komorowski fined Burgess £580 and placed three penalty points on his licence.
Chapman had four penalty points added to his driving licence and he must pay a fine of £430.
