A SHORT-TERM holiday let which has been operating for nearly a decade will remain open for business.
Maureen Sloan needed retrospective permission for the business on Cockenzie High Street to remain in place.
East Lothian Council’s planning department has now approved the application.
Planning officials noted that there were no changes proposed to the layout of the three-bedroom ground-floor flat.
It was also taken into consideration that the property had been marketed or used for short-term lets since 2015.
No objections were received by the local authority, which said: “The change of use of the residential flat to a holiday let provides holiday accommodation within Cockenzie that attracts visitors and encourages them to stay in East Lothian, which supports the existing long-established business.”
