THIRTY offices spread over five buildings could be created in a new business park on the outskirts of Wallyford.

Land to the south of the village’s Barbachlaw Way is being eyed up by Glasgow-based Lanarium Ltd.

Proposals with East Lothian Council suggest the layout will “require further comprehensive and detailed design exercise to establish the final proposal to be built to meet market demand”.

No suggestion is made in the application of which businesses could find a home on the site.

Currently, the application for permission in principle is for class 4: office, for research and development of products or process; or for any industrial process which is “without detriment” to the area by noise, smell, vibration and other factors.

A planning statement included within the application notes that the units could be sold or rented.

In total, 30 office suites are proposed for the five buildings and about 80 parking spaces are shown.

A SUDS (sustainable urban drainage system) pond would also be created on the site.

A decision on the application is expected in March.
